Why should you create a custom post order?

Many WordPress sites grow over time and with it the number of posts, pages, products, etc. It can be difficult to find the right content that is related to each other if you use the default order by publication date from WordPress. A custom order of posts – whether it’s a post order, a custom page order, a custom product order, or a custom post type order – can help you organize your content in a more intuitive way that helps you find your content more simply and quickly.

We try our best to make Real Custom Post Order compatible with other plugins that enhance your WordPress. At the moment we have explicit compatibility with the following plugins:

For which post types can I create a custom post order?

You can create a custom order for the following post types:

  • Posts
  • Pages
  • WooCommerce products
  • All other custom post types

Can I sort my taxonomies, e.g. list of categories for posts, too?

No, we only support the reordering of post types and not taxonomies. If you need even more structure because you have hundreds of categories, our plugin Real Category Management might be the solution for you. It structures your content into folders and gives you the possibility to arrange the folders.

After installing Real Category Management my post order plugin didn't work anymore. I asked support if there was another solution and there was! Installed this plugin and works nicely together. Thanks!

Found you after my previous Post Order plugin stopped working correctly (not updated for 1 year). Have a large site where I have extensively reordered my posts, was a pleasant surprise when I deleted the other plugin, activated yours and the sort order was intact. Nice plugin, 5-Stars!

Our content is heavily dependent on categories, we also needed to have the most important posts at the top. I've tried multiple sticky post solutions but I ended up with mixed sticky posts from different categories at the top of each category listing. This plugin solves that problem, it's straightforward to drag your most important articles to the top of the list in any order you want. Brilliant easy-to-use solution.

Simple and intuitive. For custom post types, you need to click on "Screen Options" at the top right corner of the screen and enable "Custom order for this list table" in order for this to work on custom post types.
